Extension reflection

This year is coming to an end and so is extension. This is my second year being in extension and in this year in extension we have done so many things here are some of my highs from this year in extension.

Up the Pipe

Here is my presentation about a man named Louis and his team of scientist who research about sludge. They are looking at the contents inside of our sludge and if it is safe to the earth. We were learning to apply the text to our knowledge. Enjoy.

Triangle addition

Here is a image of a triangle addition. The goal here was to had all the numbers together in each row to make the top number. We were learning to Use are Problem solving skills and our knowledge of addition to make the given number at the top.

Me and my friends

Here is an image I put together on a website called Pizap. I use it quiet a lot to make collages or to edited a photo or something like that. This photo is symbolic of my friendship with my friends and I. My friends Brooklyn, Lucy, Khaia and Marilyn are so funny, Respectful and smart. Thanks for everything guys you guys are so cool.

Alphabet Multiplicarion

 Here is my Alphabet Multiplication The theme around it is Anzac I had to use Algabra to figure out the Answers. For example Anzac, the number for Anzac is 1092.

My holiday creations

This is the first holidays of the school year and I have been learning and creating some stuff. The first thing I did was try to make a tie dye T- shirt I brought my materials from the warehouse

Here are the steps

Materials

1 tie dye kit in any colour

1 white T shirt with or without writing on

1. Fill your tie dye bottles with water until it reaches the line make sure to shake it well so that all of the powder is dissolved
2. If you want a spiral effect like I tried to do then pinch the middle of your shirt and spin it in a spiral circle
3. 

   Then you need to wrap the rubber bands around it to make it secure and it depends how many bands you but on  because that will be the guide line to your dying ( make sure it looks something like a pizza)
4. Grab your dye and dye one colour in one triangle and another in another triangle, Then turn your t- shirt around and dye the back of your shirt the same way
5. Once you are done dying it then hang it up in a sunny place once it is dry rinse it in some water to rinse off the excess dye and drie again then you are done

The second creation I made was a knitted beanie I haven't finished it yet but I am nearly done. I am making a beanie with the Cra z Knit kit. This is the second time I've knitted something .The first time was when I was seven and I made a belt or scarf thing using french knitting.

Easter

Easter had just finished and it is time for people to go back to work. For Easter my family didn't do much me and my sister did heaps of chores and my mum and papa paid us and with our money my sister and I decided to go to sylvia park to spend it and at Martha's backyard (A american shop with american foods) We never have easter hunts or anything but I don't mind because Easter is the time to celebrate the time of Jesus Christ he died on the cross for us on good Friday but he rose and lived again on Easter Sunday. I hope everyone had a good easter

School holidays

It is finally the school holidays and I am so excited to relax and have some quality time with the T.V. Theres nothing planed for these holidays but near the end of the year holidays me and my sister might be flying over to Australia to see our dad in Brisbane. But lets get back to the present, now on these holidays It's Easter and these time hundreds of years ago Jesus Christ Sacrificed him self for others and on the 11th of April It will be my birthday yay!!! I will be turning 11 hooray!!! I can't wait. I hope that this holidays will bring everyone love and safety.

Hokuke'a recont

You have probably seen that in most of my posts I have been talking about the Hokule'a and talking about getting ready and what we have done. Well last week on Wednesday they had arrived in front of Pt England beach. The whole of the Manaiakalani school cluster was there too. The whole of Pt England school walked down but some of the other schools came on a bus because they are further away. Except two lucky students from our school Collin and Paige got to ride on the Hikianalia. I was one of the students that got to look after the little juniors and we were making sure that they are sitting down when they're told and to make sure that they crossed the roads right.

When we got there we sat on the grass with the other schools, and around the corner came Hikianalia. With Paige and Collin on the va a’a when they came we sang different waiata’s and people did speeches. The crew among the Hokulea and Hikianalia sang and said speeches too. One of the men aboard the va'a (Kalepa Baybayan) was one out of five people that knew how the sun and the star of gladness works.

Near the end we got to shake and high five the voyagers hands there were so many of them. When we shook their hands we said Aloha because most of them are Hawaiian. The Hikanilia and Hokule’a started in Hawaii then to Tahiti and Samoa,The Cook islands and more till they reached New Zealand. They had travelled the entire Pacific and some other countries too.

It was a very significant event  and I am so privileged to see and meet them I think that our school is a very lucky school and that we should really appreciate what we get and what people have done for us.

Polyfest 2015 recount

It was the sunny morning of the 19th of march 2015 the birds were singing and the sun was Shining bright. It was the day the Yr 7 and 8 students from Pt england school where about to make history because it was the first ever time People had gone to polyfest as a class.

When we had arrived at polyfest we were greeted with lovely ASB ladies  (The polyfest is sponsored by ASB) and Flava the radio station. There was a surprise guest can you guess who it was........................ too late I’ll tell you it was the John key

My first favourite thing was doing all the activities and getting the free gifts. we got free crackers, free Milk and a free goodie bag.

My second favourite thing was learning about my culture and other peoples culture. I am half Cook island and half Maori we didn’t get to see a lot of cook island but we saw a little of the Maori performances.

My third favourite was going to look around in our groups of 8 or 7. All of the classes got into groups and the parent helpers took us  around to all the stalls and got to do anything we wanted.

I can’t wait till next year I hope I will get to perform for the Cook island performances soon.

Surprise

My dad lives in Australia and yesterday he gave me and my sister a surprise because he was her in new zealand he had arrived Sunday night and is staying in new zeland until next tuesday. My mum new that he was coming and she was tyring to keep it a secret to make it a proper surprise she had told us that she wanted to tell us that he was coming  so many times. My dad is called Adrian he is awesome his favourite colour is black and his favourite foods are Japanese and Chinese. I'm so glad that he is here!! :)

Writing recont

Here is my writing test that I did we had to do a recont about a specail time that we shared with our family.

The pilot had just announced that “We will be landing soon”. It was the first time I had ever gone to australia and I went there with my family we had gone to Brisbane and stayed in a hotel. They have lots of theme parks there. I couldn’t wait I was jumping with joy we had landed early in the morning. When we landed me and my sister could not wait to see the theme parks we wanted to ride all of the rides and try all of the australian cuisine. Did you know that australia has so many different rides? They have so many theme parks like wet and wild, Dreamworld I could go on for days.

 

 It was the next morning and me my mum, dad and sister went downstairs to the restaurant where we had breakfast. My sister and I where so eager to get on the rides but we had to wait till the afternoon. The time had come we traveled to the theme parks  I had to go to the Junior area cause I was to short for most of the rides my sister got to go on the scooby doo ride that looked cool. We took heaps of photos to show the rest of the family. Night had fallen and It was time to go to bed because we needed lots of energy for tomorrow.

It was morning once again and today we went to the Zoo It was cool we saw lots of different animals. My favourite animal is an elephant, Panda and Monkeys. A Koala is one of the australian native animals along with the kangaroo. we got to take a photo of when my mum and I got to hold a koala . I got upset when I didn't get to hold it my mum said “That their nails dig into you and that they leave little scratches on you”. My dad and sister got to hold a real live snake I was worried that something bad might happen but the snake was calm and tamed so their was nothing to worry about.

We went to the theme parks one more time than It was time to head back home to new zealand. When we left the hotel for the final time we checked back if we left anything we didn’t find anything. So we grabbed our tickets and headed to the airport where we checked in and grabbed a little bite for the flight. I enjoyed our trip and I am looking forward to the next time we go.

Highs

Cook islands

The church that we go to

One of my highs of the holidays was when we went to the Cook Islands. We stayed for 2 weeks. For the first two or three days we stayed in rarotonga (Tutakimoa). Then we went on another plane to an little island called Mitiaro. Mitiaro is the fourth island in the cook islands. It use to be called Nukuroa. Here is where most of my cook island family live. It was cool there, we went swimming in the cave pools a lot. We mostly swam in Vae Nuari. We stayed their for Christmas to. Then we went back to rarotonga for new years where me and my family had a lunch. We catched up with all our other cousins and Aunties and Uncle. Then we came back home to new Zealand.   

Whangarei

Going up to whangarei was one of my holiday highlights. I have family up there so thats why we stayed with them for a little while. They stay in parua bay there's my three cousins Roimata,Te kirihi and Sonia and my Auntie and uncle. My cousin Te kirihi had just started working so we didn't see much of her. Sonia is the eldest child then comes Te Kirihi and the youngest Roimata. Roimata is nearly the same age except she is born four months earlier. We went swimming a lot because it was always boiling hot up their. We also played with their new dog Rex and their cat Monty. When it was time to come back down to Auckland we brought our cousin Roimata with us.

Seeing the family

When we came back down to Auckland we brought our cousin Roimata along with us. she stayed for a week and a half then went back up to Whangarei.  While she was down my other cousin Sophia came over to stay is well. We went swimming more at our local beach Pt England reserve and shopping at Sylvia park mall. One day we played and looked around mission bay. We made lots of video stars on my Ipod too .During the holidays and my cousins down it was my sisters Birthday she invited some of her friends over for a sleepover and to go swimming at the panmure pools. So we all went to the pools for a swim and we also played lots of games. When my sisters friends went home not long after did our cousins leave and Sophia and her dad took Roimata up to Whangarei.

Lows

It was sad when we left the islands because I miss my family and friends. It is also sad how I miss seeing my family from whangeria and Auckland.
